Travellers Education Network (TENET)

STEP provides administrative support and participates in TENET's events and concerns.

Members of the Traveller Education Network (TENET) meet quarterly to share 'good practice' and engage in CPD activities. TENET is an informal forum where Scottish teachers, managers and other professionals from local authorities meet to discuss and share common issues affecting working with Traveller families, school and support service staff. Members exchange news, show new resources and catch up on the movements or likely movements of pupils they have worked with. TENET members work with STEP to respond collectively to Scottish Government consultations and policy initiatives in relation to education and other areas affecting their work.

Download the list of the names and details of Scottish Local Authorities' designated support staff for Gypsy and Traveller pupils (reviewed August 09 - PDF format).

The National Association of Teachers of Travellers and Other Professionals has a web site at http://www.natt.org.uk where you will find a wealth of information and discussion regarding resources and other issues relating to the education of Travelling children and young people.
