Celebrating Alexander Kennedy: 22 August, 1949 - 24 December, 2009.

STEP folk were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of our good friend Elic Kennedy on Christmas Eve, 2009. I first met Elic one late December day in 2001. He came into STEP looking for specific books written by Giorgio people about ‘his people’. It was the beginning of a privileged and very fruitful time for all of us who worked at STEP. Elic and his wife Freda became ‘well kent’ faces as they generously supported and encouraged us in our planning and working for educational opportunities to meet with the changing needs of Gypsy/Traveller children and young people. I’ll let Elic and others tell his story.
