Established in 1996, Article 12 in Scotland is a young person led network that works to promote young people's PARTICIPATION AND INFORMATION RIGHTS as set out in international human rights charters. More recently, this Scottish Government funded initiative has included young Gypsy/Travellers and access to much of Save the Children Scotland’s valued resources.

The Gypsy Council is a charitable company, which publishes a magazine called the Hub. This includes information on cultures, policy and related issues.

Gypsy and Traveller Law Reform Project

Following the disbanding of the Gypsy and Traveller Law Reform Coalition (G&TLRC) in April 2006, Friends Families and Travellers, The Gypsy Council, The Irish Traveller Movement and the London Gypsy and Traveller Unit wanted to establish a way of continuing the valuable work on law reform achieved by the Coalition. These four organisations agreed to set up the Traveller Law Reform Project. They have since been joined by the Canterbury Gypsy Support Group.

This project will keep the aims of the G&TLRC – to bring about positive changes in the law in relation to the rights and needs of all the Gypsy and Traveller communities – and will monitor the implementation of current legislation.

Irish Travellers Movement in Britain

The Irish Travellers Movement seeks to raise the profile of Irish Travellers in Britain and increase their say in decision-making processes and forums. The ITMB seeks to challenge discrimination and develop national policies that ensure the inclusion of Irish Travellers in all levels of society.
